Melbourne Cinémathèque is a non for profit society who is passionate about screening rare and significant films in Melbourne, Australia. This identity design was inspired by surrealism and captures the abstract and progressive themes explored in contemporary nior films. The composition narrative takes viewers on a journey to otherworldly and dreamlike proximities, arousing the viewers imagination and curiousity. Calling upon a film rolls and a vintage polaroid inspired colour palette to form the focal point of the design, this film festival design pays homage to early cinema whilst alluding to progressive new themes found in modern noir cinema.
